- To enhance spiritual growth by providing a variety of Christian resources to meet the needs and interests of Parishioners.
- To provide support and guidance for the application of Christian principles to daily living.
Sharing the Word is the motto of the Resurrection Lending Library, and it describes the library's purpose. The library offers parishioners the opportunity to experience a variety of Catholic and Christian based books, CDs, DVDs, tapes, and videos that span the general topics of family life, spiritual growth, liturgy, and relationships. Materials for young people comprise a large segment of our collection.
The Lending Library is a sub-committee of the Social Justice Committee. It grew from a desire to serve the parish and opened in 1994. Volunteers staff the library.
Over the years, the library membership has grown tremendously. Every week, we add new families to our list of borrowers. Through purchases and generous donations, our library inventory has grown as well. In addition to books on child rearing, marriage, prayer, grief, saints, liturgy, and spiritual growth, we have books by our own Father Donders and many of Father Hehir's lectures on audiocassette. DVDs and videos for children are some of our most popular categories.
Hours of Operation
The Lending Library is located in the Link between the Church and school. It is open immediately after the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM Masses on Sunday, when volunteers are on duty. In general, the library is open every Sunday from September through May. Items may be returned to the red trunk in the Link at any time.
How to Use the Library
Any registered Parish member or family may join by filling out a borrower's form, which includes name, phone number and address.
The checkout period for books and audio materials is three weeks, one week for videos and DVDs. We limit our Advent items to a one-week checkout period. There are no overdue fines, but we do give reminder calls for overdue items. Items may be returned to the red trunk in the Link at any time.

Each year, the Lending Library holds a used book sale to raise funds for the library and various Social Justice Committee projects.
If you are looking for a way to help our parish community, but have limited time, the Lending Library may be perfect for you. Only 30 minutes after your Mass, once a month is required to assist with checkout. If you can give 10 minutes, once a month, you could set-up (before the 9:00 AM Mass) or put away the library materials (after the 10:30 AM Mass). Other jobs are available which could be done from home.
