The Contemporary Ensemble is a group of musicians serving the parish at the 9:00 Mass. Comprised of singers and instrumentalists, the group focuses on liturgical music written in a pop (sometimes rock!) setting. Most of the music contains 4-part harmony and settings for flute, violin and other solo instruments. The Contemporary Ensemble is open to musicians age 14 and older (must be in high school) and new members are always welcome!
Singers do not need to be able to read music, just have a love of singing and willingness to share your talent with the church. God blessed you with your voice – let’s hear it!
Non-vocalists are also welcome, even if it appears that “we already have one” of your chosen instrument. Due to vacations and to the style of music we provide, flexible orchestration is appreciated and needed. Current members are more than willing to mentor new players.
Rehearsals are held every Wednesday in the church from 7:30-9:30 pm. For more information, please contact Liz Coolahan at firstname.lastname@example.org
